News For March!

The "I Love You February" Reflexology special was a HIT!

As I write this, there are only 2 more spots left, both for Thursday February the 25th. I expect those to be filled before the weekend is through.

It was delightful to meet so many new people and introduce them to the benefits of Reflexology. I love hearing the stories of how it has helped them get better sleep, feel better in their bodies, and begin to retrain their bodies and minds to relax!

We're heading into March, and with that comes a few new exciting things for Reflexology in Midland.

First, March 11th, I'll be moving into a new room within Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. I'll still be on the second floor, but I'm moving into a room that was freshly painted in a wonderful calming blue and cream. It was painted about two months ago, so there will be zero fumes to worry about.

I'll be bringing some essential oils into the office, to mix in with an unscented foot lotion or oil for the massage at the end of your reflexology session. There will be a few different ones to choose from, depending on your preference. Essential oils have such wonderful effects on the body.

I will have available a small set of speakers for you to plug your ipod or phone into, to play your own relaxing music or playlist, while you have your Reflexology session. Just be sure you have more than an hour of music!

This chilly week has me searching for a warming pad to sit underneath you while you recline in the Reflexology chair. I'll keep you posted with how that search goes.

As always, I still offer the referral 'Thank You' of $10 towards your Reflexology session, when someone you've referred becomes a new client with me. You are free to use those immediately, or accumulate them.

Plus, the stamp card program is still running strong! When your card is filled with stamps from visits (or liking my facebook page!) you get a free session!

Headache, Migraine Relief Helpers.

So, FINALLY!
All the oils are in for the headache and migraine relief recipes that I wanted to throw together, as well as for the natural perfumes requested by some people.

I've mixed up a few different ones, and I'm going to test them out so I can provide some extra information about what sort of headache relief can be anticipated. After being mixed, they really need to sit for a bit anyway for maximum effect.

I'll be providing expiration dates. The essential oils themselves last for a year after being opened, before they really start to lose potency, but the carrier oils expire much faster after being exposed to air. With the little roller bottles in amber, they should last much longer, as they aren't being exposed to air every time you use it, only when I initially mix the recipes together.

Going to have to do some math on cost, for each recipe, as some oils are more expensive than others. My whole point of this excerise was to find some personal relief from  migraines and headaches naturally, but also to be able to make these available to others at an affordable amount.

These bottle are small - 3ml is what they hold. I wanted to start with smaller bottles to test everything out, and see how long they last. If there's any interest in larger quantities (if you are using it up faster.) then I will definetely get some 5ml bottles in.

Next after this is to create some muscle rubs and massage oils for muscle relaxation.

Aromatherapy.

So Exciting!

These tiny little brown bottles are only 3ml bottles. They have the stainless steel roller ball for easy application.

First on my list is some natural perfume for a girlfriend, with a topnote of peppermint.

My base oils are going to be a from a choice of all natural jojoba, sweet almond oil, grapeseed, and coconut. I'm very excited to get started! In just about everything I'm learning, you must not put essential oil 'neat' on your skin, with the exception of Tea Tree Oil and Lavender. So I'll be playing with blends.

I suffer from migraines and headaches, so I'm eager to concoct some blends to help me with that.

Also, I want to start making salves, lip balms, and some other perfume blends. Must wait for the bottles to arrive though. Soap would be fun too.

I think making the little pamphlets to go with the bottles will take more work than the actual mixing and blending of essential oils to base oils.

Holistic Massage Therapy.

I have completed my Holistic Massage Therapy course! In Midland, my course only allows me to offer spa therapy, and not a massage as completed by an RMT.

I'm pretty happy about it, however! It has helped me feel confident in relaxation spa massage, and it has added to my Reflexology and Quantum Healing/Reiki sessions.

Just wanted to give everyone an update of what I'm up to!

Next on my path, to add to everything I'm doing, is Aromatherapy!

I love Autumn!

I love Autumn! The cooler weather makes me happy and poetic, the kids are back in school and it seems like order is restored.

Autumn is also the time of year when we get back on track with our wellness routines. It's nice to see all the new and familiar faces in the reflexology chair.

We've been busy at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre over the summer. The new H2O Massage Table is up and running (and it is DELIGHTFUL. let me tell you. I use it for 10 minutes on Friday eve, for a quick relaxing transition into the weekend.)

The ladies have been busy painting the walls in a new healing colour that we think you'll love. (We love it!)

There are some new practitioners that are coming into the building to add to our diverse staff.

Also, we've still got our HUGE 10th anniversary gift basket draw that takes place in December. Come on in to put your name in the ballot basket!

Did You Recieve A Random Act of Kindness Card?

How wonderful!

There is NO catch to redeeming the card. It REALLY is good for a free 10 minute foot massage. All you have to do is call the office number listed on the card to book your appointment. My availability is varied, depending on what other clients I'm seeing that day, so have your date book ready to see where our openings match up!

The 10 minute foot massage has a regular value of $15. The office books 15 minutes for me for these, so that we can get you in, get you comfy with a few minutes to spare, and tidy up after. If you book your free massage, and then a paid 15 minutes directly after that, you'll get a 30 minute time slot of foot massage for $15.

The other thing you can do with your card is use it for $10 off a full Reflexology session. Reflexology is a little over an hour of foot pampering, with health benefits.

I am always available to the office on Thursdays, with a few other weekdays sprinkled in between (this changes from week to week) So call early to get the best appointment time for you!
