Learn to Meditate with Reflexology

Learning to Mediate can be a frustrating experience for some. There are many reasons why people might want to meditate for wellness and relaxation, but feel like that just can't.

Reflexology is a wonderful way to ease yourself into learning how to meditate. Mediate is described by dictionary.com as

1. to engage in thought or contemplation; reflect.

2. to engage in transcendental meditation, devout religious contemplation, or quiescent spiritual introspection.

So many people think it needs to be a mysterious practice, or a practice that reveals the secrets of the universe. 

In my opinion, meditation doesn't have to be seen as deep, mysterious, or spiritual. It can be as simple as just relaxing and allowing your mind to wander where it will, and going from there. 

Reflexology is a modality that allows your body and mind to relax, and it can put you in a state very similar to meditation. In this way, it helps you train your brain and body to go to quiet reflective places when you decide to try meditating on your own.

Midland Ontario Waxing - A shout out!

Every now and again, I work with individuals in town that make me want to give them a shout out!

Midland Ontario Waxing

The esthetician at Midland Ontario Waxing is excellent in her field. She professional, and very good at what she does. I have her do my crazy wonky eyebrows. Apparently one is higher than the other when I let them grow naturally. She expertly plucked them to make them MATCH.

I've had her do my legs for me in spring, and my arms on occasion. (is this TMI? Waxing can be like that sometimes. ahhaha!) This lady is so easy going and yet professional. She's so good with people who've never had waxing before, too.

A Big Yaaayyy For Monday!!! Midland Ontario Reflexology

It's Sunday! And that means tomorrow is Monday! Why am I excited for MONDAY, YOU ASK?? hehehe.

Well, Walk In Mondays for Reflexology in Midland Ontario, ofcourse.

 So, Tomorrow (July 18th)  I happen to know that the ONLY times I have available for the Walk In special , is between 1pm and 3pm. All the rest of my day is booked up!

Walk In Reflexology is $30 for a half hour relaxation session. Regular full hour long sessions are only $45. And yes, you can walk in and ask for the full session, too.

Midland Ontario Reflexology is located inside Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre! 357 King Street Midland.

Walk In Special MONDAYS at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre

Today was the first day of the summer that I'm offering a Walk-In Special for Reflexology. And it was great! Although I had 3 clients booked today, there was still some gaps where I fit the 30 minute Reflexology sessions in.

Mondays are my Reflexology days at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre on King street in Midland, and they are my Walk In days, too.

It was a very relaxing day at the Wellness Centre today, and it was nice to help some people relax and find some wellness after a long weekend. (Isn't it funny how long weekends can stress a body out?)

Reflexology on Monday at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre

It's May! And that means Mondays are now my Reflexology Health Works days! Reflexology on Mondays are the perfect way to destress for those of us who have to work weekends and are ready to relax. Monday Reflexology is a great way to start your work week from a relaxed and balanced place.

And, speaking of relaxed and balanced...

I finished my Reiki Levels 1, 2 and Master with Lisa Powers a few weeks ago, and am pleased to offer Reiki anytime with your Reflexology sessions, in Midland Ontario at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre.

Reiki compliments and enhances the effects of other healing methods, going where it is needed and do what is needed to facilitate healing.

Reiki balances the subtle frequencies of your energetic body. Reiki healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

With the clients permission, I use Reiki during my Reflexology sessions in my office in Midland Ontario. Reiki has levels of study. I have been attuned with Reiki levels 1, 2 and Masters (which means I can give Reiki, do long distance Reiki, and teach Reiki.)

News For March!

The "I Love You February" Reflexology special was a HIT!

As I write this, there are only 2 more spots left, both for Thursday February the 25th. I expect those to be filled before the weekend is through.

It was delightful to meet so many new people and introduce them to the benefits of Reflexology. I love hearing the stories of how it has helped them get better sleep, feel better in their bodies, and begin to retrain their bodies and minds to relax!

We're heading into March, and with that comes a few new exciting things for Reflexology in Midland.

First, March 11th, I'll be moving into a new room within Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. I'll still be on the second floor, but I'm moving into a room that was freshly painted in a wonderful calming blue and cream. It was painted about two months ago, so there will be zero fumes to worry about.

I'll be bringing some essential oils into the office, to mix in with an unscented foot lotion or oil for the massage at the end of your reflexology session. There will be a few different ones to choose from, depending on your preference. Essential oils have such wonderful effects on the body.

I will have available a small set of speakers for you to plug your ipod or phone into, to play your own relaxing music or playlist, while you have your Reflexology session. Just be sure you have more than an hour of music!

This chilly week has me searching for a warming pad to sit underneath you while you recline in the Reflexology chair. I'll keep you posted with how that search goes.

As always, I still offer the referral 'Thank You' of $10 towards your Reflexology session, when someone you've referred becomes a new client with me. You are free to use those immediately, or accumulate them.

Plus, the stamp card program is still running strong! When your card is filled with stamps from visits (or liking my facebook page!) you get a free session!

I recieved a nice compliment recently. Someone said that they could tell I've done Reflexology for a very long time. I was skilled and very good at it.

I think I giggled in my abashedness, and I told them I've only been practicing for 2 years!

I've been carrying that compliment around in my 'back pocket' ever since.

Today, I'm getting ready to continue with the FUN stuff I've been working on.

Change in Hours at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre

Changing up my hours and availability at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre for Reflexology.

As of April 16th, I will only be available in office on Thursdays, by appointment.  ($45 per session.)

First Accupuncture Treatment Ever!

I had my first Accupuncture Treatment EVER!

Yes, I was a little apprehensive. And then I had to laugh, because I have TATTOO'S. How could I be scared of one little needle, when I've sat for hours getting a hundred little needles??? Too funny.

Blake, at Health Works Chiropractic and Wellness Centre treated me for my lungs and general wellness. And said a lot of things about meridians and Yin and Yang energy. Mostly stuff I couldn't concentrate on, because he was tapping needles in me. Haha!

BUT, this morning, I'm so happy to report, I didn't have to use my inhaler! Usually I use it before I even open my eyes in the morning. I've been awake for 2 hours now, and it's SO curious to me! I keep sitting still to be conscious of my lungs... and realizing "Nope! Don't need the inhaler right now!"

I'm pretty tickled. Even though I'm a Wellness pracitioner, sometimes it's easy to forget to treat ourselves!

The needles were super small, (thin) and although I was aware of them, I wasn't in PAIN. There is a point between the thumb and first finger that is STILL AWARE.. and it was a challenge to try and forget about it during the treatment.

I think I may have found a new THING to add to my wellness regime.
