Learn to Meditate with Reflexology

Learning to Mediate can be a frustrating experience for some. There are many reasons why people might want to meditate for wellness and relaxation, but feel like that just can't.

Reflexology is a wonderful way to ease yourself into learning how to meditate. Mediate is described by dictionary.com as

1. to engage in thought or contemplation; reflect.
2. to engage in transcendental meditation, devout religious contemplation, or quiescent spiritual introspection.
So many people think it needs to be a mysterious practice, or a practice that reveals the secrets of the universe.
In my opinion, meditation doesn't have to be seen as deep, mysterious, or spiritual. It can be as simple as just relaxing and allowing your mind to wander where it will, and going from there.
Reflexology is a modality that allows your body and mind to relax, and it can put you in a state very similar to meditation. In this way, it helps you train your brain and body to go to quiet reflective places when you decide to try meditating on your own.
Pairing your meditation with reflexology also can boost your wellness and relaxation efforts!

Aromatherapy.

So Exciting!

These tiny little brown bottles are only 3ml bottles. They have the stainless steel roller ball for easy application.

First on my list is some natural perfume for a girlfriend, with a topnote of peppermint.

My base oils are going to be a from a choice of all natural jojoba, sweet almond oil, grapeseed, and coconut. I'm very excited to get started! In just about everything I'm learning, you must not put essential oil 'neat' on your skin, with the exception of Tea Tree Oil and Lavender. So I'll be playing with blends.

I suffer from migraines and headaches, so I'm eager to concoct some blends to help me with that.

Also, I want to start making salves, lip balms, and some other perfume blends. Must wait for the bottles to arrive though. Soap would be fun too.

I think making the little pamphlets to go with the bottles will take more work than the actual mixing and blending of essential oils to base oils.

If you are looking for some oil blends, I can make them, or if you are looking for just the oils, I can help you with that too.

Crohn's, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis - PLEASE READ!

I think it was serendipity that Dina was one of the winners of the free Reflexology sessions at the end of March.

I met Dina almost a year ago, I think, when I was at the thrift store. She would come in with her hubby, and make me laugh, and shop till they dropped. Oddly enough, I had no idea how TRUE that statement was. I didn't know until last week, that one of Dina's routines was to get her Remicade treatment for Crohns, come shopping, have lunch, until the Remicade kicked in and knocked her on her backside for up to 4 days.

Dina is about 36. (I totally just outed your age, Dina... but it's Okay, because I'm 2 years OLDER than you! lol.) For the last 2 years, she's been suffering with Crohns. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crohn%27s_disease). She also suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheumatoid_arthritis), and Fibromyalgia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia)

I had very little idea about what all these 3 diseases entailed on their own... after reading about them in depth, I then had a VERY big picture about what all 3 meant when you mixed them up together, and put them in the lap of a 36 year old woman, mother, wife.

Then I learned about what the Remicade does to her, on top of that. Up to 4 days of being unable to do anything other than sleep, waking often in pain. Unable to eat, sleep, or be awake comfortably. Not being able to participate. They described it to me as "like a chemotherapy treamtment, for Crohns."

My first visit was Friday April 5th, the day AFTER Remicade. Dina was in pain, they had a rough night, and I could see it, but she still made me a tea while we filled out her health records and paperwork. I got her set up comfy, turned down lights, and she put on some soothing music.

And I put every ounce of intuition, reiki, and healing into that first session - being aware of her arthiritic foot, and to go easy on the stomach reflexes on her foot!

She fell asleep, so I quietly filled her husband in on the details of her treatment, and went back home.

Hours later she emailed me here at Facebook. She had slept for 3 hours after I left. When she woke, she had said that her Headache and pain were all but gone. She got up and stayed up for the day, and her husband also let me know that she was very alert, engaging, and had lots of energy. They both messaged me through the day to let me know just how amazing the 'day after Remicade' was, in comparison to how it NORMALLY goes.

On Saturday I visited. She was up, walking around, playing at the computer, alert! She says on Saturday and Sunday, she was actually able to do housework. HOUSEWORK. On a day where she is normally still swollen and in pain, unable to participate, troubled with headaches and unable to eat.

I did a second follow up treatment yesterday (Monday) and we made appointments in advance, for the days BEFORE she gets her Remicade (as they are usually trying days for her too.) and the days after.

I have to tell you, I'm no exaggerating when I say I am only ALMOST as excited as she is about this. THIS is why I came to Reflexology as a healing modality.

Here are Dina's words below:

my friend Lori owns a reflexolgy(pressure points in your feet) here in Midalnd, Ontario. I have been suffering for 2 years now from chrons. My first appointment was on April 5th this year. I receive remicade for my chrons every six weeks, and I experience severe side effects. Headaches, lots of pain, very tired and severe swelling and no energy. After Lori was done I slept for 3 hours and when I woke up I felt amazing. Saturday and Sunday I was able to catch up on my house work, make supper and horse around with my son. Never in the past year since I started the remicade have I ever been able to do that. Lori will be helping me out with the chrons, her work is amazing and its nice to not experience the nasty side effects of chrons, and my fibermylagia and rheumatoid are less painful and 90 percent of the time I don't feel any kind of pain. As well I have been sleeping better as well. If anyone is interested in giving it a shot even if your healthy its an amazing relaxtion as well. If interested let me know by message on facebook , and I will talk to Lori and set up something for u. LORI Your Amazing.

Natural Relief for Tension Headaches

Tension headaches are very common, affecting as many as 40 percent of teenagers & adults. Often brought on by stress, headache pain may be caused by the tightening or contraction of the neck and scalp muscles. These are called cervicogenic headaches because they originate in the cervical spine—the seven vertebrae of the neck.

Sufferers can find relief for tension and other types of headaches through reflexology.

Foot reflexology can be particularly useful for relieving tension and stress that can cause headaches by releasing tightness in the cervical spine. It is also used to treat migraine, cluster, and sinus headaches. Reflexology can help a person anticipate the onset of a migraine by tapping into subtle symptoms that appear before the headache.
